Tiwa Savage! Song of the day

Hey everyone, One of my main girls and also one of Tiwas biggest fans (the amazing Olatoke :D)  posted this video link on my Facebook page and I
had to share it with everyone. Love it!
For people who may not know, I was born in Nigeria (West Africa) and
the language my family speaks is called Yoruba.
The song is  a mix of Yoruba and English
called " Ife Wa Gbona"By Tiwa Savage
meaning "Our love is hot" She is an inspiration
to many who believe that one day they can make it big.

One thing I learnt from her story is that making it big does not mean you have to be
the center of attention,
as some of her greatest achievements include being a backup singer
for artists such as Mary J Blige and Chaka Khan.
Take a moment to listen to her music you will enjoy it
Let us know what you think of the song

Night Walkers Ugly pretty or Pretty Ugly?? You pick

Night walkers... now if you havent seen these shoes yet its one your bound to see by next summer
At one of the shows House of Dara attended this year
I saw a guest wearing one of these night walkers, and I thought woah!
who wears something like that lol they just looked odd
so, I researched them and found out they are called Night Walkers.
There are night walkers and Night riders (which are pretty much the boots).
Most of these speak out loud shoes are designed By Jeffery Campbell
These are the type of shoes you either Love them or dont.
I love that the websites page description
"to rid the world of ugly shoes one pair at a time"
That said I want to know what you think
are these Ugly Pretty or Pretty Ugly!?
I personally am starting to see the ugly pretty in them and would
love a House of Dara Photo shoot with these shoes.
I just wonder what it does to ones feet or leg longterm..
but thats the nursing student in me talking
You can post as "anonymous" if you so choose.

Funke Akindele!! (Inspiration for all 1)

I have decided to Start a segment called "Inspiration For All".  Being in the fashion industry or any business at all, it is essential that one always stays motivated so as not to lose sight of their goal.  As a result,  throughout this segment I will be sharing with you different bits, pieces, and people that inspire me to keep on moving.
If you have anything you feel inspires you feel free to
email info@houseofdara.com and
if it inspires me I'll share it.

Let's start off with this young woman I am a huge fan of... Funke Akindele!
Now Mrs Funke A. Oloyede

(Love this Teal pumpkin dress on her)

Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa is one of the biggest actresses in the yoruba movie industry and I love what she is all about. In her breakout movie "Jenifa"  she plays a hilarious character which pretty much showcases yoruba (Nigerian language) movies in mainstream african entertainment. What I loved about her and the movie was that it was not only about laughs and games, it also sent a message educating individuals about the truth on the
Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection (HIV)/Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome ( AIDS).

So why am so inspired by her? I just happened to see a snippet of  an interview put together by Dudu -Afric- AH  and Telafric. The interview reveals that she is a believer of being yourself, following your dreams even if it means "hustling" for it in the beginning. Most importantly, she also speaks on disciplining yourself to be respectful to your fans and always have them in mind.
